Music Collaborations

The GOod Folk

The Good Folk, Meghan Mette, Eileen Estes, Joanna Clare, Brendan Hearn, Agi Kovacs, and Patrick Winch, deliver powerful instrumentals, haunting vocals and three styles of percussive dance. Rooted in the beloved traditional music of Ireland and America, these artists explore familiar tunes and ballads as well as original compositions with respect, intentionality, and innovative interpretation.

Kate gregory & Brendan Hearn

Kate Gregory and Brendan Hearn form an innovative duo that brings together American Old Time, Irish, and other folk music traditions on fiddle and cello. Kate (fiddle) and Brendan (cello) formed their friendship and musical connection at fiddle camps on the West and East coasts of the US.

Louise Bichan Band

“In May 1950, aged 25 years, Margaret Tait set out alone, on a journey that took her from Orkney across the North Atlantic, then right across Canada. Margaret Tait was my grandmother. In 2013, also aged 25, I set out on my own journey: to retrace her steps and try to fill in the gaps in her story – gaps created by the tantalising disappearance of one crucial volume of her diaries.” - Louise Bichan

Past & Paused Projects

Ministry of Folk

We started Ministry of Folk in April 2020 to create an online environment that could provide teaching and performance opportunities and compile resources for the musicians of the folk community around the world who are facing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hemlock and Hickory

Meeting at a music festival in summer 2018, Brendan and Dakota quickly realized their connection through music and decided to form a duo. Whether a recital hall, listening room, house concert, or your local brewery, these two bring a world class listening experience with music and stories to connect audiences with the greater world of music surrounding them.

TriHearn

TriHearn was made up of Hearn siblings: Caitlin, Brendan, and Conor. They grew up in the DC/Maryland area, becoming entrenched in the folk scene there. In 2015, they released their debut album “Activate”, and did small tours in the following years. TriHearn still plays local shows occasionally, and the siblings perform in different bands in the US folk scene.
